Counselling and Psychotherapy
Welcome to my Website
My name is Mary.
I provide psychotherapy sessions to individuals who may be experiencing personal challenges in their lives and feel that now is the time to address these concerns.
I offer a safe, confidential environment that allows me to establish non-judgemental relationships with clients where together we can explore personal issues.
About the Sessions
The aim of the therapy session is to work together to explore and understand life events and past experiences that have created feelings of unease. This collaborative approach allows the sessions to be focused on the individual needs of each client in an authentic and honest way. It encourages the client to discover their own internal resources, to understand how they have lived in the past and explore a new way of living in the future.
I also work with clients to deepen their understanding of the life choices that have led to this point, and how these choices have impacted on relationships with others.
When someone really hears you without passing judgment on you, without trying to take responsibility for you, without trying to mould you, it feels damn good…
My Psychotherapeutic Approach
Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy is a person-centred approach, while also employing a range of other theoretical methods that focus on self-discovery.
I aim to provide support and help in one’s exploration of a range of issues in everyday life, such as anxiety, relationship issues, low self-esteem, loss and grief to name but a few.
I understand the unique history of each individual and will encourage the exploration of their concerns, with the aim of developing a strong sense of self, and to find a more meaningful and authentic way of living.
Together we will discover how underlying issues from the past affect our behaviours, emotions and relationships in the present. This work may uncover uncomfortable feelings of anxiety, sadness and anger, but by working together, in a trusting, respectful relationship, we can explore and uncover the source of the unease.
